Denouement is the final unraveling or clarification of the plot of a literary work, usually occurring after the climax. Resolution is the part of the story where the conflict is resolved. In a lot of ways, the resolution is the more important of the two, as it is the part of the story that gives the reader a sense of closure. However, the denouement is also important, as it is the part of the story that ties up all the loose ends and gives the reader a sense of completion.
