The Book of James is the first chapter of the Bible. In it, James sets out to explain what it means to be a follower of Christ. He starts by explaining that faith without works is dead, and that a person must have faith in order to be saved. He goes on to explain that a person's faith is tested by their trials and tribulations, and that these trials serve to build character. He concludes by saying that those who persevere in their faith will be rewarded.
