It is always best to send a handwritten thank you note within 24 hours of your interviews. You should include specific examples of what you enjoyed about the interview and/or what you found beneficial. You want to reiterate your interest in the position and thank the interviewer for their time.
It is also a good idea to send a follow-up email to your interviewer. This email should be sent 1-2 days after your interview. In this email, you want to thank the interviewer again and recap key points that you discussed. This is also a good opportunity to mention anything that you forgot to mention during the interview. Finally, you want to reiterate your interest in the position and the company.
