Most Difficult Book You Have Read

What book have you read that just completely blew your mind in terms of the author's imagination? What book made you think, "Wow, I could never come up with something like that!"?

I would say the most difficult book I have ever read, in terms of imagination, would be "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" by Douglas Adams. The book is just so out there and imaginative that it is hard to wrap your head around it at times.

This is a tough question because there are a lot of great books out there with incredible worlds and imaginative concepts. However, if I had to narrow it down, I would say the most difficult book I have ever read, in terms of imagination, is J.D. Salinger's The Catcher in the Rye. While the book is only 200 pages or so, the world that Salinger creates is so incredibly distinct and unique that it's hard to wrap your head around it. The characters are also incredibly complex and three-dimensional, which makes the book all the more difficult to read.

For me, the most difficult book I have ever read in terms of imagination was "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire". I found it difficult to imagine the world that J.K. Rowling had created, and the characters seemed very two-dimensional to me.
