There are three primary types of brainstorming:
1) Free-Form: In free-form brainstorming, participants are encouraged to share any and all ideas that come to mind, without any judgment or critique. This type of brainstorming is often used to generate a large number of ideas, and is best suited for open-ended problems.
2) Structured: Structured brainstorming is a more directed type of brainstorming, in which participants are given specific instructions or prompts (e.g., “ brainstorm ideas for a new product”). This type of brainstorming can be useful for narrow or focused problems.
3) Lateral: Lateral brainstorming is a type of brainstorming that encourages creative thinking by looking at the problem from different angles. In this type of brainstorming, participants are encouraged to think “outside the box” and explore unusual or unexpected solutions.
