How to format a Tesla Dashcam

There are a few different ways that you can format a Tesla Dashcam. You can either format the entire drive, or just the individual clips. If you format the entire drive, all of the footage on the drive will be erased. If you just format the individual clips, only the selected clip will be erased.

Assuming you are referring to formatting the Tesla Dashcam's USB drive, you can do so by following these steps:

First, you'll need to purchase a compatible USB drive. The drive must be at least 16 GB and have a high read/write speed in order to work properly.
Once you have the USB drive, insert it into the left-hand side USB port in your Tesla.
On the touch screen, go to 'Controls > Safety & Security > DATA MANAGEMENT'.
Select 'FORMAT DASHCAM'.
Once the drive has been formatted, you'll be able to start using the Dashcam features.

Keep in mind that the Dashcam will only save footage when the car is in 'Park' mode.
