The Book of Queer is a collection of 17 short films that tell the stories of LGBTQ people in the Middle East and North Africa, and challenge dominant stereotypes about LGBTQ people in the region. The films range from short narrative films and animations to musicals, documentaries, and performances. Each episode is about 20 minutes in length.
The films included in this collection are:
- No More Fear - A final post-surgery adventure for a trans woman in Lebanon
- The Lamb - A story of love and family between two queer women in Tunisia
- Being Khaled - A man's story of self-acceptance and love in Morocco
- The Veil - An exploration of a lesbian relationship in Turkey
- Salmoon - Two people challenge gender and sexuality norms in Iraq
- My Own Flesh & Blood - A personal exploration of gender identity in Palestine
- Normalizer - A man's battle for the right to express his personal identity in Morocco
- Melon in August - A celebration of freedom and masculinity in Iran
- Out & About - A reflection on being queer and living in the UAE
- Small Talk - An exploration of relationships between parents and queer children in Turkey
- If Not Me, Then Who - A documentary following a performer who uses drag to challenge gender roles in Syria
- Tasnim - A poetic look at gender nonconformity and circumcision in Lebanon
- Closet - A story of coming out in Lebanon
- My Arabia - A man's journey to uncover his queer identity and culture in Saudi Arabia
- Color of Heaven - A love story that challenges boundaries of gender and religion in Iran
- Sweating the Small Stuff - An exploration of religious homophobia in Egypt
- Motherland - A woman's exploration of queerness in Morocco
