Whether a movie is good or bad is ultimately subjective. What one person appreciates might be a turn-off for another. Having said that, 300: Rise of an Empire has gained a positive response from critics, with 62% of critics giving it a positive review on Rotten Tomatoes. Audiences have given the movie a good rating of 6.9/10 on IMDB.

For those who are interested in the historical accuracy of the movie, keep in mind that cinematically, it does take some liberties. The battle of Salamis, for example, which is the main focus of the second movie, is depicted differently in the movie than in actual history.
All in all, if you're a fan of the original 300 movie, chances are you'll appreciate the sequel as well. It does a good job at continuing the story, and expanding on it. The action sequences and visuals make for a thrilling ride. It certainly delivers an epic experience.
