In APA format, how do you cite multiple authors?My teacher said to use "et al." after the first author's name, but I'm not sure if that's correct. Can someone please help?

When citing multiple authors in APA, you can either use the "&" symbol or list all of the authors' names in the order they appear on the source. For example, if you were citing a source with three authors, you could either write "Smith, Jones, & Smith" or "Smith, Jones, Smith." If you are citing a source with more than three authors, you can either write "et al." after the first author's name or list all of the authors' names in the order they appear on the source.

Citing multiple authors in APA (American Psychological Association) format can be rather tricky, but there are some general guidelines to help you with the process.

When two authors have the same surname, include initials in all in-text citations, even if the year of publication differs. For example: (J. Smith, 1988; J.J. Smith, 2019).
For sources with three or more authors, list only the first author followed by “et al.” (“and others”) in all in-text citations, no matter how many authors were involved. For example: (J. Smith et al., 2019).
When citing references in the reference list, every author’s name should be listed.
