Jill Farrell has an impressive background in running media and publishing businesses and brings a wealth of industry experience to her role. She was formerly the CEO of The Economist Group, where she was responsible for overseeing multiple global media and publishing brands, such as The Economist newspaper and CQ Press.
Prior to her role as CEO, she was the President and COO of CQ Press and also held roles of SVP/Publisher, Senior Publisher and Director of Business/Executive Editor at the American Bar Association and American Medical Association, respectively.
Jill Farrell has been with Oxford University Press since June 2018, when she joined as Chief Publishing Officer. In October 2019, she was officially appointed as Editor-in-Chief and today she continues to lead the Oxford University Press.
In her role, Jill Farrell has the responsibility of overseeing the global editorial strategy of Oxford University Press, including the selection and acquisition of new titles and the development of existing publications. She is also responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Press, including setting up and running the Oxford Journals, Oxford Dictionaries and Oxford Scholarly Editions programs.
At Oxford University Press, Jill Farrell works with a team of editors, marketing managers, designers and other publishing professionals to produce print and digital books, journals and other materials for a wide variety of audiences.
