In the 7th edition of the APA Publication Manual, the title page should include the page header, page number, title of the paper, author name(s), and institution affiliation.
The page header should include the title of the manuscript in all lowercase letters, flush left. It should also include a running head, which is an abbreviated version of the title that is no more than 50 characters long. The page number should be flush right.
The title of the paper should be centered on the page, approximately halfway down. It should be in title case, which means most major words, including the first and last words, should be in capital letters.
The author names and affiliations should appear next on the title page. The author name(s) should be listed below the title of the paper and should be in the same font and size as the title. The authors should also be listed in the order that they are credited at the end of the paper. Each author's institutional affiliation and email address should be listed beneath the author's name. An author may include multiple institutional affiliations and email addresses, if applicable.
Finally, the page should include a copyright statement. The 7th edition of the APA Publication Manual states that authors retain the copyright for their work, unless a publisher has acquired the copyright. If authors wish to retain the copyright of their work, the copyright statement should appear as:
Copyright © Year Author Initials.
For example, if the author’s name is Jane Doe and the year of publication is 2020, the copyright statement should read: Copyright © 2020 JD.
