Game of Thrones has become one of the biggest television series of all time, and many of its spin-offs are already in the works.
First, HBO is developing a series based on the hugely popular "Tales of Dunk and Egg" novellas by George R.R. Martin. This prequel, set a century before the events of Game of Thrones, will feature the adventures of the characters, Ser Duncan the Tall and a young Aegon V Targaryen, long before he became the Mad King of Westeros. The pilot episode has already been written by Martin and will begin filming in 2020.
Another prequel is also in the works, which will take place thousands of years before the events of Game of Thrones, dramatizing the true history of the Creation of the White Walkers. Set during the Age of Heroes and featuring powerful families, such as the Starks, who fought against the Walkers, this series will explore the origin of the great conflict between the living and the dead.
Additionally, HBO is also planning to adapt "Fire and Blood", the non-fiction companion book to A Song of Ice and Fire, into a live-action series. This is still in its early stages of development and no cast or crew has been announced yet.
With these spin-offs, as well as other projects in the works, it's clear that the world of Westeros will continue to expand and its impact on pop culture will remain for years to come.
