The height at which pictures should be hung on the wall depends on a variety of factors such as their size, the purpose of the wall, the size and height of the space they will be hung on, and personal preference.
For general guidance, when hanging pictures in a room or space, the bottom of the frame should be at around eye level, which is typically 57 inches from the floor. If a space has high ceilings, you may want to hang higher than this. Additionally, artwork should generally be placed 7-9 inches above any furniture below it, such as a sofa.
When hanging pieces in a stairwell or above a mantle, hang so the center of the piece is at eye level.
When hanging a grouping, hang the tallest piece in the center first, making sure it is centered on the wall, and then line up the rest of the pieces around it. Make sure to evenly distribute the space in between each picture, leaving an empty space in-between.
No matter how you decide to hang your pictures, be sure to be creative, as this is a great way to make a space look beautiful and personal.
