Amazon's Night Sky is a star-gazing app offered for free on both iOS and Android devices. It uses augmented reality, enabled through the device's camera, to show a map of the night sky in real-time.
The app is based on a collection of astronomical data and images from the NASA-operated, US government-funded Jet Propulsion Laboratory. The data and images used in the app are derived from NASA’s Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer (WISE).
Other features include:
-Identification of stars, constellations and planetary bodies
-View the sky from any direction and zoom in to explore your surroundings in depth
-Ability to view space phenomena such as the current position of the International Space Station
-Mark and track stars, planets, and other celestial objects with augmented reality labels and trails
-Invitation for users to share viewing experiences with friends and family
You can download the Night Sky app for free from the Google Play Store and App Store. For more information, please visit: https://www.amazon.com/Amazons-Night-Sky/dp/B07YWKR98T
