Yes, the citation is properly formatted in MLA style. The basic format of an MLA citation includes the author’s last name, a space, the page number from which the quotation came, and the parenthetical citation containing the author’s full name and the publishing year. For example, a quotation from a book by John Smith that appears on page 8 of the book would have the following citation: (Smith 8). The in-text citation should be formatted in parentheses and follow the quotation or reference to the source in the text. Depending on the context of your paper, you can also opt to mention the author's name in the text itself and then provide the page number in parentheses.
In addition to the in-text citations, you must also provide a Works Cited page at the end of the paper. To do this, you must list the author’s last name, a comma, the author’s first name, the title of the book or article, the edition of the book or article, and the publishing information. Remember to include all of the elements, such as the publisher’s name, year of publication and/or the edition when applicable. For example, John Smith’s book might look like this on the Works Cited Page:
Smith, John. The Power of Writing. 2nd ed., ABC Publishing, 2017.
