Creating a journal in InDesign is quite easy and can be completed with only a few steps. First, start by creating a new document in InDesign. You'll need to set the dimensions and margins of the document. Next, choose the type of paper size you are using to create your journal, such as A4, Letter, etc.
Now, create master document pages. These will be the pages that will be used on all the other pages in the journal. The main master document page should have the title of the journal and other information. Then create additional master pages with columns and other text layouts that can be used throughout the journal.
The next step is to create the actual content pages. Input your text, photos and other images into the content pages. Include some design touches like page numbers, page borders and typography. You may also want to add page effects such as drop shadows, gradients or embossed text into the content pages.
Finally, create the cover page for the journal. Pick a special font for the title and include any additional design elements you want. Save the cover page and all the other pages as a complete document. You now have a complete journal ready for printing or sharing electronically.
