Outline.com was a crowdsourced news curation platform launched in 2013 but unfortunately went out of service in 2017.
The main reason behind the shutdown of Outline.com was its unsustainable business model. The site was not generating enough revenue to pay for the operating costs, which made it difficult for the company to continue its services.
Although the Outline.com team had tried several strategies to generate more revenue, it simply wasn’t enough to keep the platform going. As a result, they ultimately decided to end their services.
Additionally, Outline.com faced a lot of competition from other big players such as Twitter and Facebook, who were dominating the market. With such stiff competition, Outline.com simply couldn’t keep up and compete in the long term.
While we may never know why Outline.com shut down, we can only speculate based on evidence. In the end, their lack of revenue and difficulty competing with larger players in the space were likely to blame for their demise.
