The Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) N1 level is the highest level of the test and covers the largest amount of material when compared to the other levels. The N1 level requires a good understanding of basic sentence structures, intermediate sentence structures, and some advanced sentence structures as well as knowledge of a wide variety of grammar points. In total there are approximately 2,000 grammar points at the N1 level. These include verb forms, particles, tenses, conjunctions, honorific speech, conditionals, adverbs, idioms, and more. In addition, there are some grammar points specifically for written Japanese, such as specialist terms, literary expressions, technical terms, and colloquial language.
