Jummah Mubarak (or “Friday blessings”) is an Islamic greeting to be used on Fridays, the Muslim holy day. By saying Jummah Mubarak, Muslims celebrate the weekly day of prayer and seek blessings and mercy from Allah (God). This greeting is often followed by “May Allah bless and protect you.” It carries the same weight and meaning as saying “Happy Friday” in other cultures.
In addition, Jummah Mubarak is a way to express gratitude for the beauty of the day, Allah’s blessings, and for all of the good that exists in life. It is an opportunity to express humility, veneration, and love for God, as well as hope and joy for a blessed day and week ahead.
So if someone greets you with Jummah Mubarak, you can respond with something like “May Allah also grant you blessings on this day and every day” or “Jummah Mubarak to you too, may Allah fill your day with peace and joy.”
