Recently, there has been a debate about several of Dr. Seuss's books and whether or not they are racist and/or culturally insensitive. This has resulted in the cancellation of six of his books, which include: "And to Think That I Saw it on Mulberry Street," "If I Ran the Zoo," "McElligot's Pool," "On Beyond Zebra!," "Scrambled Eggs Super!," and "The Cat's Quizzer."
These books contain offensive imagery and language, which is not acceptable in current society. Dr. Seuss had an extremely influential role on children's literature, but it's important to remember that his stories are of another era. We can appreciate and honor his legacy while still being respectful of diverse cultures and perspectives.
