The largest Lok Sabha constituency, in terms of area, is the Arunachal West constituency in Arunachal Pradesh. It covers an area of 28, 116 sq kms which is the largest among all 543 Lok Sabha constituencies in India. The constituency was created in 2008 following the delimitation of parliamentary constituencies and is spread across 16 districts. It is home to a diverse population and has a mix of tribal communities, including Aka, Monpa, Nyishi and other tribal groups. It borders districts of Assam, India and China.
The constituency has six Vidhan Sabha segments and has a total population of approximately 219,321 per the 2011 Census of India. Incidentally, this is also the least populous national constituency in India. The constituency is represented in the Lok Sabha by member Kiren Rijiju from the Bharatiya Janata Party.
