I think one of the characters I'm glad is just fiction is Darth Vader from the Star Wars series. He is so conniving and cruel, and is known for being a symbol of fear and evil. Plus, he uses the dark side of the Force to achieve his goals, which often puts others in danger. I'm glad that we don't have to face his tyranny in real life.
