Disney's classic animated version of Beauty and the Beast revolves around the story of a beautiful girl named Belle and a monstrous prince, cursed to live in the form of a beast. The story starts with the prince living a privileged life as the son of a wealthy and powerful ruler, his arrogance and disrespect of those around him eventually leads him to be cursed by an enchantress and transformed into a beast.
The prince is left all alone in his castle, which is soon visited by Belle, who is looking for her missing father. She finds her father, but he is taken captive by the beast and she is forced to take his place. Belle eventually begins to see the prince for who he truly is beneath the beastly exterior and learns of the curse.
Meanwhile, the prince's servants have been transformed into household objects, and they encourage Belle and the prince to fall in love as the only way to break the curse. However, Belle's stubborn refusal to marry someone who she doesn't love puts a wrench in their plans. But with her help and courage, they finally learn to accept one another and their love breaks the curse, transforming the Beast back into the prince he once was and restoring his servants to their original human forms.
