Front matter is the information located at the beginning of a book or other publication and usually includes the title, table of contents, copyright, ISBN number, author’s name, and publication date. In a quizlet, front matter would include the same information, such as the title, the author’s name, and any other necessary information. Additionally, quizlets typically have some sort of lesson plan, or set of questions or activities that the learner is expected to complete as part of taking the quiz. Depending on the structure of the lesson plan and quiz, this might also be considered front matter. Front matter might also include summary information about the quiz, an introduction about what types of topics are discussed, and any other important information related to the quiz.
