2023 is set to be a big year for sequels! There are a few highly anticipated sequels coming to theaters next year, including a few long awaited franchise entries. Here’s a list of some of the biggest sequels you should look forward to in 2023:
Avatar 2: After a decade of development, James Cameron’s highly anticipated Avatar sequel will finally be released in theaters. The sequel will delve deeper into the mythos of the Na’vi, Avatar’s alien race. It’s due to hit theaters on December 17th.
Deadpool 3: After years of development, Marvel’s Merc with a Mouth is ready to make his comeback. Ryan Reynolds will return as the beloved anti-hero with a solo sequel due for release in June 2023.
Bad Boys 4: Will Smith and Martin Lawrence are both set to team up once again for the newest entry in the Bad Boys franchsie, with filming for the movie slated for this summer. The sequel is expected to hit theaters in November 2023.
Fantastic Beasts 3: Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston and Dan Fogler are expected to all return for the third entry in the Fantastic Beasts saga. The movie will be released in July and focus on the dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald, who’s played by Johnny Depp.
Saw 9: The 9th installment in the long running Saw franchise will hit theaters in October 2023. While few details are known about the movie, it's sure to be filled with gruesome traps and twists and turns.
