It is not common to hear about a thirty year old who makes $1.8 million by self-publishing on Amazon. However, there are a few very successful examples out there!
Created by Victoria Saxon in 2017, "Daughters of the Dragon" was a historical fiction novel she wrote and self-published on Amazon. After three years of anticipation, and only 8 days after its debut, the book hit The New York Times bestseller list. With such success, in 2020 Saxon disclosed that she had earned a staggering $1.8 million from her self-published Amazon endeavor.
Another example is Tina Reber, who wrote the bestselling novel "The Simple Wild." Released independently in 2013, the novel soared to the top of the bestseller list, garnering Reber $1.8 million in revenue within two years.
Unfortunately, it is not easy to replicate this kind of success. Whether it be experiencingwriter's block or trying unsuccessfully to break into traditional publishing, countless authors never have the opportunity to enjoy this kind of success. For that reason, it can be inspirational to hear stories and examples of what motivation, determination and ambition can achieve.
