Is Star Trek a military sci fi?

In your opinion, is Star Trek a military sci fi? Why or why not?I've never considered Star Trek to be a military sci fi. It always seemed like more of a space exploration/adventure type show to me. But I recently heard someone say that it is, in fact, a military sci fi. So I'm curious to hear others' thoughts on the matter.
