What are some good book series for 7 year old boys?

My son is in second grade and is a very advanced reader. He's looking for a new book series to get into and I'm not sure what would be appropriate. He's into science fiction and fantasy, and he's also a big fan of Diary of a Wimpy Kid. Any suggestions?
